A young Marine emerged from the water of the pool at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego fully dressed, soaking wet, and stood amongst his platoon brothers also dripping with pool water and smiled. When our Cru Military Staff asked, "Congratulations, how do you feel?” He responded, “Ma'am, I feel alive. Now my memory of this pool will not be the fear of waters that nearly drowned me and could cause me to be dropped from the program but of a place where I stood shoulder to shoulder with my Marine brothers and declared that my life belongs to Jesus.”

Every year over 21,000 young men and women from the western part of the US arrive in San Diego to begin training to become part of the United States Marine Corps. Over 1/3 of all enlisted Marines  begin their journey here. This 12 week boot camp experience has become a key gospel opportunity as we have been invited to share the gospel through the following:

• Lead 4-5 Spiritually Fit Ready to Serve classes every Sunday (300-500 recruits in each class)
• Teach a baptism class often with up to 150 Marines present
• Help baptize Marines the week of their gradation.
• Host outreaches and prayer space for the Drill Instructors
• Lead a midweek Bible Study for recruits injured during training

Today, you can stand beside those who have chosen to serve our nation. Join our team through prayer and financial support to help us bring the gospel to every recruit, Marine, and Drill Instructor at MCRD San Diego.
