My Story
I graduated from Northwestern University and I spent one amazing year with Chicago Metro AIA. It was in MY freshman year at NU that God used the Athletes in Action ministry and staff to stop me before I fell down a path of apathetic faith. He shook this sleeping Christian awake and Ephesians 2:10 became my life song. "For you are God's masterpiece, created anew in Christ Jesus so that you could do the good things He planned for you long ago" (Eph 2:10). Let me tell you, God planned some GOOD things for me!
God continued to challenge me: "read my Word, take my commandments in the Old and New Testament seriously, start a team bible study with the cross country team, share the Gospel with people who don't know me, disciple younger girls in the faith, go across the world to reach the unreached, give me a year at Northwestern to reach the unreached."
Every time I said yes, God blessed me in ways I could not have fathomed. Walking with Christ doesn't always feel great in the present, it is challenging! However, I have a deep joy and an eternal hope that cannot be touched. It was such a joy to pour into the ministry in Chicago that God used in my life.
Today's Mission Field: New Orleans
I married my faithful & God-seeking husband, Austin Carr in July 2017 and his NFL career led us to New Orleans, LA. I was still just as excited about the way AIA impacts college students so we launched the first AIA ministry. We serve students at Tulane University, University of New Orleans, Xavier University, and Loyola University. There has been such a clear movement of the Holy Spirit here, we have seen God raise up faithful Christian leaders who are sharing the truth of Jesus Christ with their teammates. We are praying that Austin would stay with the Saints until there are Christ-followers on every team at all schools who are actively multiplying their faith.
My Prayer for Partners
I would love to have YOU as a ministry partner. I am praying for a team of partners who are excited about having a Christ follower on every team in every university. I am praying for partners who will help me reach my full financial support goal, but I am also praying for partners who want to be prayerfully and physically involved in the ministry in whatever way they can be. Thank you for your support, Ephesians 1:15-16!
