College was a time of trials for me.

It wasn't until after I graduated that I discovered the relief, wisdom, peace, and adventure Jesus - someone I'd long heard about but never inquired about - offers. He alone provides life to the fullest (John 10:10). He equips men with chests ("Take heart" - John 14), not bravado or pride. He goes after the lost sheep until He finds it (Luke 15:4). There is no one else like this wild man who gave up His life so that we may live.

Now, through Cru, God has called me to share on college campuses what Jesus offers all of us and to walk with students through what can be a tumultuous and impactful time. I engage students in conversation, share my story, and make myself available for questions on faith and/or Jesus, for Bible study, for discipleship, for encouragement.

I am married to a gracious and beautiful woman, Kristen (pictured above). We are parents to Samson, Louisa, Greta, and Zeke, and we live in Baltimore area. My work with Cru has taken me to Johns Hopkins University, where I graduated with an M.A. in Creative Writing in 2011. The goal at JHU is to shepherd a group that is not afraid to ask questions, share its journey, get its hands dirty, and proclaim the good news. "What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs," Jesus told His disciples (Matt. 10:27).

We thank you for your prayers, and as you decide on where to give financially, we ask that you think of these students as we dialogue with them, meet them where they are, and inquire if they've ever considered Jesus.

Grace and Peace.
