College can be a challenging period when students are on their own for the first time and taking steps toward building their adult life.
It is also a key time spiritually when faith and God are explored and seriously considered. Participating in faith-based campus clubs as a student at Ithaca College helped the gospel become more real to me. I learned how to talk about Jesus with others and saw the importance of Christians working together to love others and explain who Jesus is and why that matters. The intimacy with Jesus that resulted gave me the enthusiasm to see the same happen in students’ lives and led to my decision to join staff full-time with Cru in Summer 2014.
I currently work remotely for Cru World Headquarters as part of the US Tech department. I work most frequently with an online tool called MPDX used by Cru and other ministry organizations; this software helps missionaries develop their ministry team by tracking their funding and organizing contact information for tasks like sending prayer updates. My job is to write internal communications like Cru-wide emails, help documentation, and video training scripts so people know how to use MPDX. I am thankful for the opportunity to use my love of writing to resource the ministries of many!
I also serve on a local campus team with Lifelines, the Outdoor and Experiential Learning Ministry of Cru, in the Northeast. My husband, Yan, is a volunteer guide with Lifelines because of the lasting impact outdoor, campus ministry had on his spiritual development during college. The mission of Lifelines is to use the outdoor environment to develop people in leadership and character, and to bring them into grace and truth relationships with themselves, others, and God. It’s a joy to be part of student's lives as they establish themselves as adults and prepare for the future. I am thankful to partner with you to serve missionaries nationally and globally, and students on campus locally as we work together to introduce students to Jesus, build their relationship with Him, and send students into their post-grad lives ready and excited to share Jesus with others.
