My first semester of college, Cru opened my eyes to possibilities that I thought were far beyond my reach considering my age, skin color and where I came from. I always thought that college was a time to have dangerous and inappropriate fun, to not care about what you are doing because you are young and you only live once. Cru helped me to see that true living only comes from Jesus. The things of this world will leave you high and dry but Jesus never will. Back in 2009 at a Cru conference I accepted Christ into my heart and my life changed forever. I realized I didn't have have to be older and out of college to have a deep personal relationship with Jesus. I see things so differently and my heart is outward focused on showing love to others like how God has shown love to me. College is such a crucial point for people. It's when you began to stop leaning on your parent’s choices and make your own decisions as an independent. Just like what Cru did for me, I desire to do for others. I want to stand in the gap at such a crucial time for college students encouraging them to walk with Jesus.
