Matteo and Lauren Chiarelli

Matteo is from southern Italy and has been living in Rome for over ten years. 

Lauren is from Pennsylvania and moved to Rome after undergrad. We met in church while working with different missions agencies and got married in 2020.


We are passionate about sharing the love of Christ with students as they navigate the big city and even bigger world of ideas and opportunities. Similarly, we are moved by immigrants and refugees entering our country to offer a community of practical help, spiritual encounters, language and cultural learning, and social opportunities.

 We are inspired by the image of the Living Water, and we see so many thirsty people with dried up hope. Together, we strive to help others discover Jesus, know and love God, and find the river of life welling up in them, too.

 John 4:13-14“Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
