Welcome to my giving page!

Almost 10 years ago I was attending CSU Bakersfield (CSUB) as a freshman. I wanted so much to be plugged in with some form of Christian club on campus (if something like that existed!). I prayed the Lord would open doors for me, and one day as I was eating my lunch, I saw a gal walking across campus with a fish symbol on her shirt. She disappeared into a building too quickly for me to catch up with her. I got up to leave for my class and surprised I crossed paths with her again! This gal who would later become one of my dearest friends introduced me to Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru).

I met my first international student my junior year of high school. She was from Korea, and her friendship I think God used to ignite a love for the nations (though at the time I didn't know it!). Fast forward to my sophomore year at CSUB. I was on the worship team with Cru and really loved introducing my fellow students to Jesus. But a good friend kept sneaking out after our meetings with this enthusiasm that made me curious. I asked her one day where she was headed and she said "to meet international students, come on!". That was when I came to know about Bridges International.

Bridges is such a wonderful ministry geared towards international students, building "bridges" of trust, love, and care to reach every tribe, tongue, and nation for God. These students come to the U.S. sometimes knowing little English, have few friends, and limited knowledge of the area. That is where the ministry of Bridges can be so effective. It has been such an encouragement for my faith as I have seen God draw a number of my international student friends to Himself. I have made countless friends from all over the world as a volunteer with this ministry since 2014, and early this year I decided to take a leap of faith and apply for full-time staff. The Lord has been with me every step of this journey, and I know He will never leave me (Deut 31:6).

Quite recently I found out where I will be placed as Bridges staff, which is a sweet story of God's care in and of itself. In 2015 I had the pleasure of going on a short-term mission trip to Seattle, WA. I had the most wonderful time of growing in the Lord and built some fantastic connections. A few months after I got back, I told a friend that I was going to work at my job for a year and then I would go on full-time staff in Seattle. A few months ago, I reconnected with that very same friend who reminded of that very same conversation almost 5 years ago. You won't believe where I am headed for full-time staff with Bridges...in Seattle! We serve a God Who loves us, cares for us deeply, and knows what is best for us at just the right moment. I trust Him completely as He keeps reminding me that He has the whole world in His hands, and I can't wait to get started in Seattle on mission to love on international students for Him! Thank you for joining me on this amazing adventure!
