Ryan and Abigail Pintar

#0949032

Hey, y’all! We are Ryan and Abby Pintar, and we work to solve the most serious problem facing University of Michigan students today.

 The Problem

47,000+ students from every corner of the globe attend the University of Michigan. Additionally, there are over 8,000 students from over 90 countries all over the world studying here, many of whom are coming from countries that have a limited access to the Gospel. Countless students have never heard the name of Jesus. Thousands of these students are separated from the real and living God. This Problem  transcends these students’ majors, grades and careers, and the stakes of the Problem are eternal. The only solution to the Problem is the Gospel, and the Gospel has not been clearly shared with the majority of these students.

The Solution

Christ died in the place of sinners. For those who put their faith in Him alone, they know the unfathomable forgiveness of Christ that covers all of theirs sin and the indescribable joy of knowing Him personally. This is the only Solution that can actually save these students.

The Stakes

Students, like all of us, need Christ and His forgiveness. Students, like all of us, will one day have to stand before God Himself. When they do, their greatest Problem will either have been solved for them by Christ taking away their sins —or they will have to face God’s judgment alone. None of us can control whether or not each student chooses to trust in Christ as their Solution or not. But we can strive to help each student at least have the chance to hear about the Solution and make that decision for themselves.

About Us

Ryan was born in Illinois and trusted Jesus as His Savior in high school. However, it wasn’t until he attended college at the University of Illinois that he joined Cru and experienced a community of believers seeking to grow in their faith together for the very first time. It was in college that Ryan began to see God’s heart for every person to have the opportunity to hear the Gospel and respond. After graduating in 2017, Ryan interned with Cru for two years, and then decided to commit to joining Cru as a full-time missionary. Some of Ryan’s favorite memories in ministry are traveling to East Asia and Central America to share the Gospel and bring clean water resources for families.

Abby was raised in North Carolina, and while she heard the Gospel at a young age, it wasn’t until she attended college at the University of North Carolina that she surrendered to Jesus as the Lord of her life. As she began to grow in her faith, she joined Bridges International, Cru’s ministry for international college students. In Bridges, she learned of God’s desire for peoples from all nations, tongues, tribes, and cultures to hear the Good News of Jesus. Abby joined Bridges as an intern for two years after she graduated from UNC in 2017, and then decided to work with Bridges as a full-time missionary. Some of Abby’s favorite moments in ministry are attending Bridges’ annual Vision Conferences- conferences where 1200 international students studying at universities all over the States come together to celebrate culture, fellowship, and the Gospel.

We met in 2019 in Fort Collins, Colorado, at Cru’s new staff orientation and began dating at the end of the summer…. Five days before we had to leave for Illinois and North Carolina! We dated long-distance for a year and a half, and got married in June 2021. We now live and work with Bridges in Ann Arbor, Michigan to share the Gospel with international students coming to study from all over the world. We believe that the Lord has brought us together to serve Him together, and we are passionate about international students in Ann Arbor having the opportunity to hear about Jesus!

We’ve committed ourselves to helping these students have a chance to hear and know the God who died so that sinners may be forgiven and brought close to Him. Our work is only made possible through the financial and non-financial generosity of others. Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel! We are so grateful for you, and we truly believe that you are the reason that this ministry is possible!

We’d love to share more about who we are, our missions, how to get involved and get to know you as well! We would love for you to be encouraged by what the Lord is doing in our ministries, and would love for you to receive our prayer updates. We’d also love to meet with you to get to know you!

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!’ And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying, ‘Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.’ ” -Revelation 7:9-12
