As a family, we spent the first 20+ years of our adult lives in the US Army and now our sons along with their families are currently serving. We have seen and experienced firsthand the many challenges, difficulties, and struggles that military members and their families face. God's calling on our life is to allow Him to use our own experience, in the power of the Holy Spirit, to minister to Soldiers and their families; helping them come to know Christ and to spiritually build up the military community by meeting them at their greatest point of need.
A STRATEGIC MINISTRY
Fort Moore (Benning), GA is a strategic ministry location in that the installation supports more than 120,000 active-duty military, family members, reserve component soldiers, retirees, and civilian employees on a daily basis. It is the home of the U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence which develops combat leaders through the Infantry School, the Armor School, Officer Candidate School, Infantry and Armor Basic Officer Leader Course, Ranger School, and many other functional schools. The leaders that these schools produce will face difficult decisions, often under difficult circumstances throughout their military career. Our goal is that as military leaders, they follow Christ as their Soldiers follow them.
THE GATEWAY
Fort Moore (Benning) serves as a gateway to the Army where over 30,000 new Soldiers a year are received and trained through Army One Station Unit Training (OSUT) for Infantry, Armor, and Cavalry. Our primary focus is our Gateway ministry, where trainees hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and how to know God personally. Through our weekly studies, they learn how to be spiritually fit, ready and resilient, to face the difficulties and challenges that Soldiers may face in today’s current operational environment. The vision of our Gateway ministry is that every Soldier knows another Soldier who is a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.
OUR PURPOSE
To serve the men and women of Fort Moore (Benning), GA and the surrounding community by
....introducing Soldiers and their families to the person of Jesus Christ.
....discipling our service men and women to promote growth into mature Christ-followers
....strengthening the military family by helping couples establish Jesus Christ as the center of their home and marriage
....leading individuals and families into Christ-centered healing and restoration when life goes wrong
....serving and supporting Chaplains and Commanders in promoting mission readiness through family readiness
....training and equipping local churches on how to minister to the military in their midst.
Our Army journey began at Fort Moore (Benning) over 30 years ago when I (Jeff) attended Infantry OSUT there. God has brought us back here for another new beginning with Cru Military.
