Our Mission:
To see a day when there are Christ followers on every team in every nation. We want to build spiritual movements everywhere through the platform of sports so that everyone knows someone who truly follows Jesus.
About Us:
Bryan graduated from Worthington Christian High School in Columbus, OH and then received his bachelors degree at Biola University (La Mirada,CA) in Physical Education and Biblical Studies.
Terra grew up in Ketchikan, AK but for her senior year in high school moved to Seattle and graduated from Seattle Academy. She received her bachelors degree from University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) in Political Science.
We met each other in Alaska when I (Bryan) was coaching basketball at UAA and Terra was a student there in 2004. We were married in 2008 and then moved the following year to Laredo, TX to coach basketball at Texas A&M International Univ (TAMIU).
Our Call:
In the spring of 2017, I (Bryan) started to battle with anxiety. The entire 2017-2018 season we struggled to find a rhythm and started to have thoughts of leaving the profession to heal and pray about a new direction. It was also during this time God was stirring in our hearts, in this next career move, not to base our decision on what was most comfortable, affordable, and safe. We both felt God challenging us to live out and pursue what is most important which is to go and make disciples. On April 17, 2018 we resigned from TAMIU, packed up our things and moved to Columbus, OH to be around family.
We believe Athletes in Action is a natural fit due to our professional experience and long standing relationships with staff members. The decision felt right and is a path that will give life and energy to our lives as we fulfill the great commission. We are excited to see how God uses our ministry to impact people involved in sports.
