My name is David Wacker and my wife Madeline and I met through Athletes in Action as interns at the Ultimate Training Camp (UTC) in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2017. She was a beach volleyball player at Tulane at the time, and I was a basketball player at Boise State University. We immediately hit it off, began dating long-distance, and quickly realized that our relationship was headed toward marriage. Although she didn't feel called to full-time ministry, Madeline encouraged me to follow my passion by joining staff with AIA after I graduated from Boise State. We got married in May of 2019, two years after we met at UTC. We then spent our first year of marriage living in her hometown of Phoenix while I raised my initial support before moving to Fort Collins in August of 2020 to begin the next chapter of our marriage. I have loved serving the athletes of Colorado State University and University of Northern Colorado with AIA. I recently became the Local Team Leader of our AIA team and I am so excited for all that God will continue to do through our ministry. Madeline and I are extremely thankful for my team of ministry partners who give prayerfully and financially to be a part of what God is doing through our ministry.
