Hi everyone! My name is Cody Canepa, and I’ve had the joy of serving with Cru for the past five years. I graduated from UC San Diego with a degree in medical sociology. During my time at UCSD, an old high school friend invited me to a Cru event — a night that changed everything for me. It was the moment I returned to my faith and met some of my closest friends. From that point on, I clearly sensed the Lord calling me to walk with Him in ministry. 

After graduating, I spent my first two years with Cru as a full-time intern in San Diego. I served at UCSD and SDSU, with my main focus on launching a movement at local community college campuses. During that time, we witnessed students rediscover their faith, grow in their understanding of Scripture, and experience genuine community. It was also during that season that I met my now wife, Maya, at a Cru event. After my time in San Diego, I transitioned to South LA, where I’ve been serving for the past three years at Cal State Long Beach. Maya and I are currently enjoying our first year of marriage while living in Huntington Beach!
