Hi there!

I'm so grateful to share what God has done in my life and the vision He has given me for my ministry with Athletes in Action, the sports ministry of Cru.

A Little Background

During my time at the University Colorado, I suffered several season-ending injuries which caused my faith in God to waver and dwindle. During my junior year (2017-18) at the University of Colorado, I suffered a stress fracture in my fibula (ankle area), returned to running for a few weeks, and then suffered a stress fracture in my sacrum (lower back). At that point, I knew I couldn't handle another season of sadness and living without God. I finally turned toward Him in that pain and asked Him what was going on. How could He let me fall so far from my purpose of being a successful runner? It was then that I realized I had it all wrong. God didn't create me to be a runner. He created me to be His child and have a relationship with Him.

Responding to God's Call

After I graduated from CU, I decided to take the opportunity to use my extra eligibility to come back home and attend Duquesne University for graduate school. With a renewed faith and understanding of my sport, I came into Duquesne with the goal of growing closer to God and helping my teammates do the same. A volleyball player and I co-led an athlete Bible study. Teaching God's word became my favorite part of the week and the thing that brought me the most joy. I did suffer two injuries while at Duquesne, and while those were disappointing times, my faith in God's goodness and plan for me never wavered. He was still using me to serve my teammates and help them learn about Him, and it was during this time I felt that God was leading me to join staff with Athletes in Action.

How God is Using this Ministry

In my role with Athletes in Action, I get to help college athletes find their identity in Christ and walk alongside them as they pursue a relationship with God. At the University of Dayton, we have four weekly discipleship groups going across the women's sports as well as a weekly large group meeting where 25-30 athletes gather across different sports teams. We have a total of 23 women involved in discipleship. Through Bible studies, praying for one another, and sharing our struggles and lives with one another, our groups are growing in their knowledge of God, their love for God, and their understanding of their purpose to share their faith with others.

Join Me

In order to continue serving, I need a team of partners who are passionate about reaching athletes for Christ and want to invest in God's kingdom. My partners join me in prayer and financially to provide my salary and ministry expenses so that I am able to serve full-time. I send monthly updates to my partners to share about the work we are accomplishing together. My goal is to find partners who give $100, $200, or another amount monthly. I would love to talk more about what God is doing with this ministry and answer any questions you have about how you can join me.
