My Story:

Going into college, I assumed I knew everything I needed to know about God. I grew up in the church assuming I was a strong Christian because of my background. It didn’t take long for me to realize what it really meant to be a Christian. God used Cru staff in a way that changed my life. I was able to see true believers walking in a way that was fully surrendered to God and it didn’t take long for God to place a desire in me to be used in the same way. After volunteering with Cru as a student for roughly two years, I discovered that there was a spiritual battle taking place for the hearts of college students. I found that I could no longer sit back and do nothing. For the first time I understood how “the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” and felt my heart consistently being pulled towards full-time ministry.

My Goal: My greatest desire is for college students to “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). When I read statistics saying that “At least 60% of professing Christian teenagers will abandon their beliefs in college and disengage from the church” I can’t help but feel a personal responsibility to reach out to them. Many are suffering due to a lack of knowledge on who God is and I want that to stop. I want to point them to a real Jesus who changes lives.
