Marc and Alyssa are passionate about seeing the Gospel reach all across New Jersey.
Marc grew up going to church every Sunday with his family, while Alyssa's family started going when she was in high school. However, neither of them really knew what exactly they personally believed about God until college. At this time, they were both seeking out a club to get involved in to meet new people and make friends, and so they found Cru. Both Marc and Alyssa noticed that there was something different about the students in Cru; they had a sense of peace about them and they were incredibly friendly. Being there felt like a home away from home. It was here that Marc and Alyssa both decided to fully commit their lives to Christ. Cru changed their lives in college and now they hope to give new students the same experience they had.
Why New Jersey?
New Jersey is less than 2% Christian, and so there's a huge need for the Gospel here. Not only that, but there's 60+ college campuses in NJ and Cru is only on 20 of them. There's lots of work to be done here so that Cru can reach every campus.
Why College Students?
College is a time where people are figuring out who they are and who they want to become. It's such a pivotal time to reach people with the Gospel because the trajectory of their life could completely change, just like it did for Marc and Alyssa. On top of this, around 66% of students leave the faith once they enter college. Marc and Alyssa want to help be a light and a guide to these students who are navigating the difficulties of college life.
