In 2019, Georgia Southern became Holland’s pick of where she would continue her collegiate swim career. The deciding factor was the mention of a campus ministry called Athletes in Action. Holland swam for Georgia Southern’s Swim & Dive team from 2019-2021. She retired in November of 2021 due to injury and another calling on her life. AIA had such a large impact on her that she immediately asked to continue her involvement by becoming student staff. Ever since, Holland has seen God work in her and in others in amazing ways. In December 2022, Holland felt the Lord calling her to full-time ministry at Georgia Southern with AIA. She will begin that journey after she graduates in May 2023 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science.
AIA is an athlete-based ministry that is meant to lead athletes to turn all the glory to God and learn to worship Him in their sport. Through discipling, community, and outreach, the ministry focuses on building meaningful and impactful relationships with student-athletes. The ultimate goal is to see people’s lives changed by the Grace of God so much that they desire to do the same for others.

Our Model: To achieve our mission, Athletes in Action staff work to build a spiritual movement within the GSU athletic department. A spiritual movement occurs when God works through a team of like-hearted people to:
WIN others to Himself (evangelism)
BUILD them up in their faith (discipleship)
SEND them out to do the same (multiplication)
My Request: We invite others to partner with us to reach people for Christ at Georgia Southern. Our prayer is to see God raise up athletes and coaches whose life mission is to know and walk with Christ, live in genuine Christian community, and expose the unbelievers they are around every day to Christ. We believe this is possible when organizations and individuals who want every athlete to know someone who truly follows Jesus, work together toward the common goal of furthering God's kingdom.

Like many other mission organizations, Athletes in Action staff depend on the consistent prayer and financial support of concerned individuals & organizations. You can make an investment in this outreach to Georgia Southern University athletes by partnering with Athletes in Action staff, Holland Danskin, by committing to a monthly donation of $100 each month or some other amount.
Contributions are made to individual staff members through Campus Crusade for Christ and are tax-deductible.
