Refugees in Moldova

Our dear ministry partners, as you know the war in Ukraine began on 24th February. Here in Moldova, we are still shaken by what is transpiring. i. - Today, thousands of people, who have been displaced from their homes are in transit. In the last 7 days, more that 100,000 refugees have crossed the border into Moldova. As followers of Jesus, we are positioned to help them in the midst of their upheaval. Our Cru ministry has reshaped our office into transit center for those who are fleeing their homeland. Here they can find shelter stay for a night or maybe more and take time to decide what is next for them. Some choose to go further to Romania, some stay in Moldova. This opportunity allows all of our 75 Cru Moldova staff to minister directly with refugees now.
We don't know what will be next for our country. For now we want to help those Ukrainians that have decided to stay in Moldova, because they have no other place to go, or have no money to travel further. We talked with a Christian friend who has space for many of these refugees and we are currently hosting 200 people there. We want to cover costs for these people: food, heating, electricity, water, etc. and take care of other needs they might have. If God provides, we will look for another location next week to host additional people.

Even in this frightening time, emotionally difficult time, we see the love of Christ that pours out through the Church on people who are tired of anger. Please pray that God will stop this war. Pray that God fills us with strength and guides us in this ministry. Most of all, we want to give those refugees the hope of the Gospel.
