Ukrainian refugee center destroyed
A violent fire started on Friday evening at the refugee center at our office. By God's grace, nobody was hurt, but the 26 Ukrainian who lived there lost all their belongings. Some of them left barefoot, with only their clothes on. A six-months-old baby was among them. They are now temporarily moved to a church facility.
For more than two years, this center offered refugees a safe place, a community, a place to see God in the people who loved and served them. Today they returned to search through the ashes and try to find some of their valuables. A lady is looking for important medicines she needs. Another one hopes to find the money her husband just brought home from working abroad. The children are trying to find some of their toys and most of them are hoping to find an ID. The desperation you see in their eyes is overwhelming.
How can you help???
Pray
For the peace of mind of the Ukrainians who lost everything they owned and to draw closer to God in the midst of this situation.
Give
They will need to start all over again. They will need housing and food, clothes and shoes, and to renew all their indentification papers. We want to help them rent apartments for a few month so they can continue with their lives, and children to continue to go to school.
