At the age of 14, the Lord revealed His holiness to me. It was at that moment when I also came to see my own sinfulness before Him. However, just as Paul experienced the truth behind the very words he penned in Romans 5:20, "but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more," so also this rang true in my own life. Freeing me from condemnation through His death and resurrection, the Lord called me to a life of service unto Him. Truly, through the trials and the trials to come, it has been and always will be a joy to walk with my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

At the age of 18, I was sitting in my room watching a video about the top ten unreached tribes in the world. I remember reading the comment section and everyone was appreciating the fact that no one has contacted these people. This troubled me, for all I could think about was the fact that these people are living and dying without knowing who Christ is. It was around this time when I realized that I must leverage my life for Christ's mission.

At the age of 21, during my senior year of college, I came in contact with Cru on my campus. I like to describe this Cru community as a magnet-- and I'm a piece of metal. Their passion for Christ and His mission produced a genuine love which pulled me in. I found myself enjoying fellowship with my brothers and sisters the more and more I spent time with them. I love this community and they have loved me back very well.

Now, I will be serving Christ in Lynchburg, Va with Lynchburg Cru. You might think, "Why would there be a need for the gospel in the Bible belt?" However, through my time here in Lynchburg, I have noticed a great gospel amnesia, if you will. It burdens me to see and speak with so many people who have become so familiar with the name of Christ, that they do not realize they have no relationship with the person of Christ. This ultimately leads to the gospel amnesia mentioned earlier... that of forgetting God's love for them and forgetting God's mission for them.

Therefore, I desire for God to utilize me and the rest of Lynchburg Cru to reach out to college students in this context. May the Lord bless this outreach, may He demonstrate to many what true relationship with Him looks like through evangelism and discipleship, and may He be glorified in this city.
