Hello and welcome!

Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to learn more about us and what God is doing through our ministry. We are fully settled into life in South Carolina and connected across the country with a network of couples serving marriages and families. We continue to be amazed by how God uses our story to strengthen others and bring hope to homes through Christ.

Our Backstory

We’ve been raising a blended family for 16 years and now have four young-adult children. When we married, both of us hoped to “get it right this time” after experiencing the pain of divorce. But instead of finding instant peace, we quickly uncovered the complexity of life in a blended family, and we struggled. Our dreams of wedded bliss turned into a reality of navigating multiple homes, different parenting styles, and the emotional weight of blending lives. Thankfully, early in our marriage, God led us to a mentor couple who invited us into a blended family small group, using "The Smart Stepfamily" by Ron Deal through FamilyLife. That experience changed everything! As we began to apply biblical principles and experience God’s healing, we discovered a calling to help other families do the same. Over the past 15 years, we’ve led The Smart Stepfamily groups numerous times, facilitated Blended & Blessed livestream events, hosted marriage workshops, and shared hope with countless couples navigating similar challenges.

Our Ministry Today

Our passion is simple—but it runs deep: to make every home a godly home. We believe that when families untangle from the broken and refocus on God’s design, hope takes root, healing begins, and generations are changed. Today, God has expanded our reach in ways we never imagined!

Jim now serves as a Weekend to Remember Planner, leading this powerful marriage getaway that’s been transforming relationships for decades. Since the 1970s, Weekend to Remember has been a cornerstone of FamilyLife’s ministry—helping over 1.5 million couples restore hope, rekindle connection, and rediscover God’s design for marriage. Each event is a front-row seat to God’s grace at work in real lives and real marriages. 

Jacquie serves on the FamilyLife Expansion Team as a Local Leader, impacting Myrtle Beach for the gospel ... one family at a time. Her heart beats for connection and discipleship, helping families discover they don’t have to walk through life’s messes alone.  And there’s more! She’s planting seeds for a local moms ministry ... a welcoming space for single moms and stepmoms to find encouragement, support, and ultimately, the hope of Christ. 

What began as a simple desire to help others through our blended family journey is now growing into a broader vision to reach women and families throughout the community with the Good News of Jesus. Together, we’re seeing doors open all around us! We’re leading online small groups that reach families across the country. We are encouraging local guides who are walking beside blended families. 

We are partnering with several area churches eager to:  

• Bring couples to a Weekend to Remember, then help them grow deeper through Bible study follow-up. 
• Offer resources and mentoring for marriages and blended families.
• Explore creative ways to build stronger family ministries within their congregations.

We’re continually amazed at how God is moving! He's knitting people together, transforming homes, and drawing hearts closer to Him through the ministry of FamilyLife.

Why Blended Family Ministry Matters

Blended families have a different structure, different bonds, and different pressures and they need guidance that speaks directly to those realities. We’ve learned, seen, and lived the truth that blended family questions need blended family answers. Challenges like kids feeling caught between homes, loyalty binds, unclear roles, grief from past losses, and the slow pace of trust-building aren’t fixed by traditional marriage advice alone. These situations require wisdom that understands stepfamily dynamics, like why it may take years, not months, for relationships to gel, or why couples must “lead with patience” as a home with multiple histories forms one beautiful NEW story. God has taken our own years of struggle, misunderstanding, and heartbreak and used them to grow compassion, resilience, and redemption in us. Now, He’s turned our restoration into a calling. Every story of healing points back to God’s design for family and His desire to redeem every home, no matter how it began.
