Hello! My name is Alyssa, and I am a recent graduate from Wright State University! Throughout my time at WSU, I became very involved with Cru, a Christian campus ministry. After graduating high school I knew I needed and wanted to find a Christian community in college. I began showing up to Bible studies, retreats, and weekly meetings. I began to understand the beauty of the gospel and what it meant to walk with God each day. As I started reading the Bible, taking steps of faith in having gospel conversations, going on a nine-week summer mission, and being discipled one-on-one, I experienced the fulness of having a true and life-giving relationship that can only come from God. I have come to realize that I am a broken person, in need of a savior, and the only thing that can satisfy my heart is a relationship with Jesus.
There are a lot of things competing for the hearts and minds of college students. Whether that is academics, relationships, friendships, or athletics I believe college students are searching for purpose and true fulfillment. As students long to find security and satisfaction in these things it only leaves them feeling more empty, anxious, and hopeless.
Because of the deep need I see for Jesus on college campuses and the impact that Cru has had on my life, I am committed to spending the next year walking alongside college students, introducing them to the Lord, and helping them live on mission for a lifetime. I’m thrilled to work with the Central Ohio Cru team to reach students in our area! Our hope is for every student to have the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel, and I am excited that I get to play a part in that mission.
I would be DELIGHTED for you to be on my team as I take steps of faith in what I feel that the Lord has called me in this next season. I believe each of us has a part in sharing the gospel, and I would love for you to join me in this mission.
