Cru Gap Year is a year on mission for 18-20 year olds. Participants invest a year abroad between high school and college. They serve with local Cru ministries in South America and Africa, sharing the gospel with and mentoring high school students in the local area. Participants receive training and hands-on experience in evangelism, discipleship, team building, and cross-cultural ministry, and they grow personally and spiritually. Experienced Cru leaders accompany teams of 6-10 students to guide, train, and mentor them.
Research shows that students who participate in gap year programs often perform better in school, have a better sense of direction in their lives, and have higher employability than those that go directly to college after high school. Participating on a gap year with Cru also prepares students to enter college with a strong spiritual foundation and the ability to be spiritual leaders and multipliers of their faith on campus.
Receiving ministries are delighted to have eager, trained teams sharing the gospel in large and small venues alike. It is not uncommon for gap year participants to share the gospel at events that draw over 500 young people, and for many to profess faith. In addition, local Cru staff help gap year participants build strong relationships with local youth, and many come to faith while others are strengthened in their faith.
Your gift provides needed funds to send participants to their year on mission. Thank you.
