The Bradley - Mellichamp Pioneer Fund

Dr. Walter Bradley and Dr. Rae Mellichamp are the founding professors of Cru’s faculty ministry, originally Christian Leadership Ministries (1980-2005) and now Faculty Commons. 

The Walter Bradley and Rae Mellichamp Faculty Pioneer Fund seeks to honor the Bradleys and Mellichamps by raising resources for future generations of faculty who desire to follow in their footsteps, and by being a place for professors to express their gratitude and tributes to Rae and Peggy and to Walter and Ann.

  • Write a tribute expressing your appreciation to either Rae, Walter, or both, and/or their wives: What, specifically, would you like to thank them for? How did they influence you?
  • Recount your memories: Whether it’s from the early years or more currently, we would love to hear your stories of being impacted by Rae and/or Walter and this ministry.  

In addition to sending your tributes and memories, please consider a significant financial gift to Cru’s Bradley-Mellichamp Faculty Pioneer Fund. The fund’s goal is to raise $100,000 annually, primarily from professors who want to express their thanks and tangibly honor Rae and Walter by underwriting the work of identifying and resourcing the next generation of Christian faculty innovators and pioneers. These funds will be disbursed directly and exclusively to defray the expenses of selected professors or promising PhD students and future professors for their ministry activities like short-term international mission trips, conferences for their equipping and resourcing, leading local faculty or graduate student ministries, helping launch new campus ministries, etc.
Gifts can be from individuals, companies, or foundations. They can come from a donor advised fund, IRA Charitable Rollover (RMD gift or other QCD), stock or noncash gift. For details, please contact rich.mcgee@cru.org.
