We are the Leigh family! Jeff and Ashley have recently been accepted as full-time staff with Crescendo North America. (Under the umbrella of Campus Crusade for Christ, or Cru.) This is a fully support-raised missionary position, and we are excited to begin the work God has called us to!

Being a musician in a secular work environment can often feel very isolated and alone. Together, Jeff and Ashley are seeking to create meaningful relationships with other christian classical and jazz musicians; encouraging them to be a light for Christ. One of our greatest desires is to provide opportunities for christian musicians and artists to use their unique gifts for Christ, collaborating together to reach the lost and present the gospel in beautiful and artistic expressions.

God has uniquely prepared Jeff and Ashley to serve with this ministry through years of hands-on experience in the professional music world, as well as in their church.  Jeff has served as a pastor for the past decade.  He also earned his PhD in music composition and has served as a professor of music at Wheaton College.  He also has over twenty years experience as a professional classical and jazz violinist, playing in professional orchestras and touring as a soloist.  Ashley has over twenty years combined experience as a professional clarinetist in the Naples Philharmonic and Palm Beach Symphony.  She also serves on her church worship team and is a Christian songwriter.    

Jeff and Ashley have a burden to reach people in the arts world for Christ.  Sensing God's calling, they have decided to leave their current careers and work with Cru's Arts and Culture division, with a very specific ministry called Crescendo. This ministry ties together their love for Christ with their love for music and the arts.

Crescendo is a global community of Christ-following professional classical and jazz musicians. Our mission is to witness to the saving love of Jesus Christ, encourage and challenge musicians in their faith and vocation, and minister through music and acts of service in churches and to the broader community.  Connecting musicians through small groups, discipleship, podcasts, and creative concerts, we will equip believers to spread the love of Jesus Christ using their unique musical gifts.  We seek to further the Kingdom of God as artists who engage with and influence our culture.
