The stress of college life is something that I know very well. The constant pull of academics, a social life, family expectations, and a desire to be accepted are consuming. Though I grew up in the church, most of my college years were spent searching for meaning in all the ways of the world. 

But that is where God met me. In desperation, He showed me what true love and acceptance looked like, as well as true community through a group called Cru. 

Cru exists to help people know Jesus, grow in their faith, and go out into the world to share the gospel. Based in Portland, Maine, I will be interning with the Southern Maine team, helping to reach students on their college campuses. My role will involve building meaningful relationships, walking alongside students in their faith journey, and helping create spaces where they can encounter Jesus and grow in community. 

This role is meaningful to me because I see so much of my own story in the lives of college students today. I’m beyond excited to be a part of what God is doing in Southern Maine, trusting that He will continue to meet students right where they are.
