With a Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA), you make a gift (which may be partially tax-deductible), and then you, your spouse, or a loved one receive fixed payments for life. The amount of each payment will depend on the age of the person(s) who receives them. Payments can start immediately or be deferred to a future date. Through a CGA, you can help share the good news of Jesus Christ!

The benefits include:

• A charitable income tax deduction – A portion of your gift may be tax-deductible. The deductible amount is determined by your age, the type of asset and rates established by the federal government. We calculate the tax-deductible amount for you.
• Attractive payout rates – The amount of the annuity payment is determined by your age. The older you are, the higher the rate. See the rates at crufoundation.org/CGA.
• Versatile funding options – You can fund your CGA with cash, stock, or with a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA (if you’re at least 70 ½).
• Flexibility – Income payments can be made for the lifetimes of one or two people. You may also choose to defer payments to a time when the income will be needed.

How does it work?

To get started, you can fill out this form or contact our team to request a Charitable Gift Annuity illustration. Once you’ve decided on the gift, here is an overview of how it works:

 1. Complete the CGA application and establish the CGA with a donation of  $5,000 or more.
 2. Receive fixed payments on a quarterly schedule for the lifetimes of up to 2 people as well as a gift receipt for any portion that is tax deductible.
 3. Your gift will support gospel work through your favorite Cru ministries and missionaries!
