Around the world, 115 million people are forced to collect water from unprotected lakes, ponds, rivers or streams. This puts them at a much greater risk of contracting deadly diseases like cholera, typhoid, or dysentery.
You can help! By the end of the year, Unto ® plans to send 1,500 water filters to suffering people in hard-to-reach countries. The filters will provide more than 9,000 people with safe, clean water. In order for each one to reach its destination on time, $72,000 is needed by November 30.
The water filters distributed are specifically made for use in tough places. With proper care and cleaning, they can last up to 10 years and will provide up to 100,000 gallons of clean water! They can serve homes, schools, churches and medical clinics. Your gift today will give families — and entire communities — safe, clean water now and for years to come!
It costs just $8 to provide someone in a tough place with clean, drinkable water through the gift of a water filter — and to give them the opportunity to hear about Jesus.
Because we work through the network of Cru ® staff serving in 190 countries, your gifts will reach people in areas where many organizations cannot go. Our local staff teams personally distribute the water filters you help provide. They teach each family how to use them, so they will have clean water for many years. They build relationships within each community. And they follow up — showing the “JESUS” film making disciples, and establishing new churches in unreached areas.
