Please pray with us that the Lord would open the door for all 60 TV and radio broadcasts and 100 million views this Easter. Again, $581,000 is needed. People will also see contact information on their screens to learn more and to be securely linked with trained digital evangelists. These workers will answer their questions and help guide them in prayer to receive Christ, and when possible, link them with local faith communities. Amit* is from South Asia, and his story is a great example of God’s grace. “As a child, I watched ‘JESUS’ every Christmas on TV. Being so young, I didn’t really understand all the words, but I loved the kindness on Jesus’ face.”
Years later, Amit was in deep trouble. He was depressed and suicidal. He was prepared to take his own life when a friend invited him to church. “I was so intrigued. … Can I come?” He remembered, “[how] I had tried it all … Islam, Sikhism, Hinduism ... I’ll give Christianity a try.”
Amit went to church that next Sunday, then he planned to end his life. But before he did, he heard a very quiet, gentle voice in his heart saying, "You have given everyone a chance, your friends, family and religion. No one can give you the peace you are looking for. Give Jesus a chance…”
The church welcomed Amit and gave him a “JESUS” film DVD. He said, “They presented me with a wrapped copy of the “JESUS” film in Hindi. I was really happy to get the “JESUS” film. So, I decided to come every Sunday.”
Amit said, “Little did I know the gift Jesus would give me the third Sunday [I attended]. [During the prayer] I closed my eyes. There was Jesus! I opened my eyes. I closed them again. He was still there! His arms were outstretched. He began walking toward me as if He wanted to hug me. I could feel Him surround me and pass through my body. All my suicidal thoughts and depression left me. And so, I began the most incredible adventure anyone can ever have.”
