They were newlyweds, but conflict divided them-she believed in Jesus; he vehemently opposed Christianity. Govin, struggling with joblessness and drinking, forbade his wife from attending church.

Then Madeline*, who had attended a StoryRunners training, came to their village. Week after week, she visited Govin, sharing oral Bible stories. Despite his anger, something made him listen. The stories challenged him. They convicted him.

Finally, Govin attended church with his wife—and received Jesus as his Savior. His anger melted away. Joy replaced it. He returned to work, and today they faithfully attend church together.
