Reach Seekers with "JESUS" in Their Heart Language

#2584041

Because of your partnership, multiple showing tools are available to new believers by using video tablets, projector sets and more. They all play “JESUS” in the language of a person’s heart. It’s then that the Holy Spirit does His work of transformation, a work you help make possible by your prayers and gifts.

More than 3 billion people have yet to be reached with the gospel. And most of these have never even once heard the name of Jesus. This is why 1,800 ministry partners are using “JESUS”, available in 2,283 different languages. Many ministry partners are based in the developing world and can’t afford to purchase their own equipment. But they will gladly supply the workers. And some workers were delivered from Satan’s kingdom when they were given the chance to watch “JESUS”.

Because so many people are open to receiving the gospel, partners are asking for hundreds of video tablets and projector sets. They will use these tools to show people “JESUS” and disciple new believers. Funds are also needed for online evangelism and television broadcasts of “JESUS”. Again, people just need to hear Him speak and understand the gospel.

Working together, many friends of “JESUS” can send these tools. Your gift of any size will still reach people with the gospel. Please seek His mind and guidance as you consider how you might help.

More than 3 million is needed in the next four months to meet all the requests from ministry partners—hundreds of workers who are ready to show “JESUS” in 2,283 different languages. As you give and pray, you will be introducing Jesus, the gospel, to hundreds, perhaps thousands of people who have never once heard. This is how God can work through you.

May God bless you for shining the light of the gospel into their hearts!

Thank you for your kind prayers and generous giving. I want to pass along a heartening message that came to Jesus Film Project®. It began …

“I’m sending you today an encouraging story of genuine life-change—a reminder of how God can take an ordinary moment and use it to reshape a destiny.”

The message came from a “JESUS” film staff member, written about a man named James. His nation has sadly endured years of civil war and radicals who are hostile to Christians. His story is incredible.

🡲 James was a bus driver. He regularly drove passengers across the border between two nations. Raised in a culture of guilt and revenge, anger and bitterness ruled his heart. He often felt lost and empty and longed for a peace that he could never seem to find ...

… until a friend sent him a digital message through the secure social media app, WhatsApp. The message linked him to a scene from the “JESUS” film, one of 61 segments available online:  the “Sermon on the Mount” all in his native language.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you?”*

James said that the words pierced his heart: “… love your enemies, bless those who curse you …” The message shook him so deeply that he claimed he watched the clip more than 500 times! And every time, he said he felt that God was speaking directly to him.

James became hungry for answers. Who was this man? What do these words mean? Why do they have so much power? In his quest, James visited a church, something that people from his religious background avoid. Sadly, at the first church no one explained the words. No one helped him. But God did. That very night James experienced a powerful, vivid dream. James said he was driving a white bus toward a place called “Capernaum”—a name he had never heard before. It was a mystery.

He visited another church, and it was more welcoming. A church member asked, “What do you want?” James answered, “I want to know about Jesus.” The man happily shared the gospel and gave James a Bible.

He started reading the Bible, something he had never done before, and like a miracle designed just for him, he saw the name “Capernaum”—exactly as in his dream! He said that moment confirmed God’s call upon his life. He believed, joined a discipleship group, was baptized, learned the basics of faith and surrendered his life to Jesus.

At first, his wife rejected his new faith. (When people here follow Jesus they can be regarded as traitors.) So, she left him. Yet James responded with Christlike patience and prayer. Over time, his wife saw the undeniable changes in his character, his hope, his peace and his love. Her heart softened, and she, too, came to believe in Christ.

Today, James and his wife lead a house church, where many gather weekly to hear God’s Word. The staff member who sent this report added, “When we met recently, he asked for a projector to show the “JESUS” film—the same tool God used to change his life, which he now wants to use to reach others.”

And it all started when a friend reached out on his phone. Such digital encounters are happening thousands of times a day, especially in closed nations where it’s dangerous to openly talk about Jesus. For your part, thank you! Here are yet two more examples of what our God is doing, the fruit of your partnership.

🡲 Like James, Emily felt lost too, plagued by evil. She sadly had been oppressed by a demon for some time until the moment her family turned on their television. The station was playing “JESUS”. (In nations where it’s dangerous to publicly talk about the gospel, people will watch a film about Jesus on TV.)

Out of sight of radicals, in the privacy of their home, the film played in their heart language. It seemed like any other television program. But the moment that Jesus appeared on the screen, as John is baptizing Jesus in the Jordan, the demon reacted. We don’t know the details, but the report said, “… an evil spirit manifested itself in Usha.”

Her family was awestruck as Jesus cast out demons. The spirits had no choice but to obey the Son of God. At last, they had hope that somehow this Jesus could cast the demon out of Emily. Her father reached out to a distant relative who was a Christian. So, the next Sunday, they took Emily to that relative’s church. They prayed over her in the powerful name of Jesus, and the demon was cast out—just like in the film. Emily and her family chose to follow Jesus and are now learning about their new faith. And it all started when they watched “JESUS” on their TV.

🡲 Next, Will is a 25-year-old car mechanic in northern Mali, West Africa. The nation is mostly empty desert where millions have little knowledge of Jesus or the gospel. We don’t know if he watched it on TV or on his phone, but Mohammed witnessed just a portion of the “JESUS” film. Again, even short segments are powerful because His Word never returns void. Will contacted a digital response center. The worker explained the gospel and asked if he wanted to receive Christ. Will said, “Yes,” prayed and was made new in Christ.

The last we heard, this young man was preparing to attend a training seminar where he would learn to share his faith and help lead others to Christ. He said he wants to make the most of what he learns and return to Mali “equipped to make the most of every opportunity to share the good news.”

I’d like to close my letter with a favorite Scripture from the book of Daniel: “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.”** What a great opportunity God has given His church to lead many to righteousness through “JESUS”.
