As many as 25 people can watch at one time and hear the Word of God. This partner’s work is so widespread and fruitful that they are asking for hundreds more video tablets. They have the workers who are willing to go, even to the difficult areas. They just need the equipment and training.

            Partner ministries are also broadcasting “JESUS” on television and on the internet. Many then use those video tablets to meet with and follow up with those who respond, helping to ground them in their new faith.

            Other ministries are using microSD cards. These tiny memory cards—about as small as a thumbnail—are easily hidden and can be inserted into smartphones and other digital devices. Partners that give out the cards report that people watch “JESUS” again and again, seeing and hearing the gospel in their heart language.

            You’ll see tools that will enable you to shine the light of the gospel into places where the name of Jesus has never been heard.             I am always amazed by how God is working through your generous gifts and prayers! You are part of a global partnership of evangelism and church planting. I hope you will be encouraged by these stories.

            One of those 1,800 partners is working within a culture that is hostile to Christ—a place where you can be killed just for talking about Jesus. Yet this partner is overcoming resistance in a dramatic way. They are showing “JESUS” in many languages around the clock on television. I will let their director tell you what God has done.

            ∆“We minister in the midst of a very hard-to-reach people. Recently, we were out, carefully talking to the people. They started telling us they had been watching the ‘JESUS’ film on TV. We were so thrilled. We also learned about a man who had recorded ‘JESUS’ on his DVR and had been watching the film over and over again. I will call him Mamoud*.

            “To follow Jesus here comes with a high cost. So Mamoud took a couple months to think about the gospel. He was finally ready and had the courage to text the number we show on the TV screen. He typed, ‘I'd like to learn more about Jesus.’

            “But he lived far away. So our team drove three hours to meet him face to face. There they shared the gospel story, the person of Christ. He had so many questions that they talked with him all night!

            “Finally, he believed and prayed to receive Christ. Immediately, at his request, they found a pond where they baptized him. The team began to disciple Mamoud. He was so excited about his newfound faith that he shared the gospel with other people he knew.

            “One couple reacted in fear when he started talking with them about Jesus in public, ‘Whoa, this is not safe to talk about! We need to go out to the rubber tree plantation where it’s more secluded, and we can talk in private.’ They also believed and received Christ. There was a pond there, too, and immediately he baptized them!

            “As they came out of the water, new creations, they said, ‘We know some other people who would be interested in learning about Jesus.’ So Mamoud went to them, going from person to person, telling them about Jesus. In total, he led five people to faith and baptized them in the same pond!

            “Mamoud was aglow as staff trained and discipled him. In turn, he went back and forth discipling his new believers. One day he was caught in a storm and sought shelter in the local house of prayer (belonging to the dominant religion of this nation). With the rain pouring down outside, he shared the gospel with the leader of the house of prayer. He, too, came to faith!

            “Word spread about Mamoud. He was becoming famous, a threat. So, a local gang had had enough. They confronted him, found a few Bibles in his possession and threatened him. ‘Now we know what you’re doing!’ So, they beat Mamoud and brought charges against him before the local religious court. With 200 people attending the trial, Mamoud boldly shared the gospel, declaring that Jesus is the Son of God, who died and rose from the dead.

            “Speaking in his defense, he was rock solid, on fire for Christ. The religious judges couldn’t counter his preaching. They admonished him, saying, ‘We’re going to release you, but you must stop talking about Jesus.’ Sounds familiar doesn’t it!

            “Not long after, Mamoud began meeting with 15 Nicodemus types who had been at the trial. They were afraid to talk to him during the day, so they met at night, asking more about Jesus. Again, sound familiar? He led some of those to faith. And it all started when Mamoud watched ‘JESUS’ on television in his home ...

            “I think of another man who was a gang leader. He had been hired to kill one of our workers. That worker happened to meet this gang leader, his killer, in a fish market. He shared the gospel and led him to faith! That former gang member is now on staff and shares the gospel with about 150 people every year! He also helps lead people to Christ who first learn about the gospel in their homes on television.

            “God is so amazing. We are identifying and discipling the future Billy Grahams and apostle Pauls of this nation. Please tell the friends and supporters of Jesus Film Project that they are truly on the front lines of fulfilling the Great Commission.              “Jaydeep is from a religion that has many gods. He was an alcoholic and would always create problems in his home. One of our leaders, Brother Mukul, would visit Jaydeep’s home. Unfortunately, Jaydeep had a deep disdain for Christians.

            “One day, Mukul was showing the ‘JESUS’ film on a tablet to Jaydeep’s family, and Jaydeep became very angry … He threatened Mukul and told him to never visit his home again. Mukul returned to his own home and asked some of the believers to pray for him.

            “A few days later after much prayer, a miracle took place. Jaydeep visited Mukul's house and repented for the way he treated him and asked for forgiveness. He wanted to know more about Jesus and also to watch the ‘JESUS’ film.

            “Praise God that Jaydeep is now a believer and has forsaken his past. Not only that, but he is now sharing with his friends and visiting different places to display the love of God. Praise God for this amazing transformation. Tell the friends of Jesus Film Project that we so appreciate this partnership, for the equipment they provide. Thousands are coming to Christ.”
