Below you will find a link to some of the tools that ministry partners are requesting. They speak of great opportunity, open doors and hearts ready to receive the gospel if someone will come and tell them. They want to use “JESUS,” available in 2,303 languages, along with follow-up films like “Walking With Jesus.” Teams also need support. They will go if friends like you will send them. In the next four months, at least $2 million is being requested.

$130,000 CHALLENGE GRANT

Because of the response that film teams are seeing to the gospel, a generous couple has given the first $130,000 through a Challenge Grant—to equip and send more film teams. They have given generously in the hope that you will be inspired to follow their lead. Here are opportunities to consider.

I wish you could have heard firsthand what our Lord did. I am excited to share these stories with you! 

We were talking on a highly secure video call with a key staff member in the Middle East. I will call her Mona*. She spoke with such fervor and joy! 

➤ “I want to tell you about the power of prayer. One of our dear sisters, Sophia*, comes from a radical background. She really loves the Lord but because of her faith, she had been disowned by her family. They threatened to kill her if she dared to come back. Sophia heard that her eldest brother was near death and she wanted to see him in the hospital. She also knew she could not be seen by anyone from her family.” 

That’s when Sophia came to Mona. They prayed, trusting God. Even though she could be killed, Sophia decided: “I will go. I want to see my brother.” Mona reassured her. “If you have peace about it, we will leave you in God’s hands and will be praying for you.”

The danger was real. You see, her brother was from a very well-known, religiously devout family, one of the biggest tribes in the country. They opposed Jesus and His followers. When Sophia walked into her dying brother’s hospital room, she found it filled with members of the radical tribe. As she entered, all eyes were on her, the “traitor.” Her brother lay in bed, his eyes closed, near death. 

Sophia ran past them to his bed, holding headphones and a video player. She had cued the video to the resurrection scene from the “JESUS” film. With his eyes still closed and not knowing if he was even aware of her presence, Sophia placed headphones over his ears. In a very low voice, so no one could hear, she told her brother: “Listen, listen. Watch this. This is Jesus. He is the healer. He loves you. He died on the cross for you and He has risen. He has risen.”

Somehow, her dying brother opened his eyes and watched. Suddenly, he came alive. He spoke: “This is the one. This is the one. He’s the one. He came to me. He touched my body from my toes up to my shoulder and my head. He’s  the one.” Her brother jumped from his death bed and before a shocked family  announced: “He’s the one. He’s the one. He saved me. He healed me.”

I wish you could have heard Mona as she described the moment: “Oh Lord! They were all [radicals] in this room, knowing that the brother was almost dead. He could not speak. He could not talk. But now, he’s screaming, jumping from the bed, declaring, ‘He’s the one, He’s the one. He is God. He is  my healer. Look now, I can breathe. I can move.’

“Then sitting on his bed, healed and very much alive, he told them all: ‘Nobody can come close to my sister. She believes in the real God. He is the real God. He died on the cross for us, and He has risen. He has risen. I saw Him. I saw Him. I saw Him. He’s the one who touched me.’

Mona concluded: “Now under his protection, Sophia witnessed to her whole family and showed them ‘JESUS.’ Her mother, her sister, her nieces and nephews all came to the Lord. Hallelujah! Hallelujah, glory to His name!  Everyone on that call was in awe. What a privilege to tell you what He has done!

➤ And here is yet another miracle ... Steve* and his wife are long-time friends of “JESUS.” They owned a Christian bookstore in the high desert of California. With the help of friends, they have trained and equipped 86 “JESUS” film teams! Steve called to tell us how he witnessed a great miracle. 

“It took us three days of hard travel to get to the northern border of Thailand. We were taking the ‘JESUS’ film to the Karen people [kə-REN]. They had suffered greatly, having fled across the border from government oppression in Burma. We set up our showing next to an abandoned church. The building was slowly being consumed by the jungle. A worker with us told me how the founding pastor was himself from the Karen people. After starting the church, he returned to Burma to bring his family back. He was devastated to learn that the rebel fighters had murdered his wife and two children. 

“Consumed by grief and anger, he abandoned the church. We took a moment to pray for him. When it was dark, after we showed ‘JESUS,’ I invited those who wanted to receive Jesus to come forward. Prompted by the Holy Spirit, I said, ‘There are people here who need healing, people who are gripped by unforgiveness. If you would like prayer, come forward.’ 

“A man with severe arthritis came out of the crowd. He was hopping on one foot, with crutches. His hands were gnarled, fingers curled inward. The Spirit again spoke. ‘This man’s arthritis was caused by anger and unforgiveness.’ The man told me, ‘I am the pastor who founded this church. The rebel fighters killed my family.’ Having just watched Jesus forgive those who crucified Him, I encouraged him to give his anger to the Lord, to forgive his enemies, too. The pastor did and then we prayed for his healing. 

“Over the next 30 minutes, his fingers began moving, opening, and then he began to walk, without crutches or hopping. Before the crowd, he walked about, fully healed. The people were astounded by the power of Jesus. As a result, 100 men, women and children indicated decisions for Christ. The pastor asked to hold a service the next morning by the abandoned church. Nearly everyone came. At least 50 new believers went on to be discipled. They rebuilt the church, clearing away the jungle, growing in their faith! And all  this happened because we showed them the film ‘JESUS.’”

And the reports keep coming. “JESUS” film teams, pastors, volunteers, missionaries and ministry partners all speak of the power of His Word, heard in their heart languages. Partners ask for equipment and training so more workers can go into unreached areas with the good news. They are so committed to fulfilling the Great Commission. This is the reason I invite you to again help unreached people see “JESUS,” to hear Him speak in their heart language.
