The purpose of our ministry with Athletes in Action New Zealand is to develop athletic influencers into Christ centered leaders by:

WINNING sports people to Christ
BUILDING them in their faith, and
SENDING them out to impact the lives of others

In 1993 Timo and Frances Tagaloa were chosen to pioneer the Athletes in Action New Zealand ministry full-time.

Timo comes from a top sporting background having played New Zealand sevens in 1991, New Zealand XV in 1991 and 1992, Western Samoa in 1991 World Cup and Utah State University with American Football. Along with this he achieved a BSc in Physical Education.

Frances comes from a netball background having played for Central Taranaki and Western Districts netball and coached at College Rifles in 1994. She is a graduate of Auckland University with an LLB and a BA and of New Zealand Bible College with a DipgradTh.

Timo was the official sports chaplain for the New Zealand Breakers Basketball team and the Auckland Rugby Academy. He enjoys being in the field sharing his faith and reaching out to influential athletes and currently works on Auckland University reaching the athletic influencers of tomorrow.

Frances now works for Campus Crusade for Christ, on the VP Operations team as the Chief of Staff helping to build capacity with our global ministry.

Timo and Frances have two adult sons and a daughter-in-law - Trent, Josh and Chelsea.
