Dear sisters and brothers in Christ,

In 1994, in the heat of the war in the Balkans, Bibi and I met with a US couple that came to Croatia for a year to talk to people about Jesus Christ. We simply wanted to practice English with them. They shared the Gospel with us, but not touched by it, we took pity on them and decided to help them reject Christianity! With Bibi's parents displaced by the war, and me programming the first Croatian computer game, we did not need God. That evening, as our new missionary friends gathered to talk about their day, they concluded, "we will never see that weird couple again". Only two weeks later, at a showing of the Jesus Film they invited us to, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Bibi did the same, studying the Gospel of John two weeks later with our persistent new friends.

We immediately joined a local church, started meeting with other students that wanted to grow in their faith and worship God, and after two years, together with our high school friend we led to the Lord, we became the first Croatian CRU staff, in 1996. Had someone told me that 20 years after meeting Christ God would have me lead the largest Christian ministry in Croatia, I would have called them crazy. :)

We saw my family trust God, and many people from our hometown. It was a delight to work with students, as they searched for the meaning of life during the war and after it. We had a chance to also serve by showing the Jesus Film in all the Croatian cities, and later even in the villages, including a number of sparsely populated islands, where hardly anyone does Evangelism. We also showed the film in predominantly Muslim parts of Bosnia, often times facing dangerous opposition. Underground newspapers in Sarajevo wrote about our project, complaining about Christ presented in a Muslim city. With all of our showings and TV and radio broadcasts, more than 2 million people were exposed to the Gospel, and many trusted Christ as a result.

Our daughters Lara and Hana were born in 2000 and 2002 respectively. Very early on, we would bring them along, as we shared the Gospel all across Croatia and Bosnia. Some joked our kids slept more in the car than in their beds.

I had a chance to spend three years, from 2004 to 2007 as an IT consultant for a big government financial institution, where I was able to learn more about the business world, and bring Christ into that arena.

In 2007, God lead me to rejoin CRU so that I can focus 100% of my time to reaching people in the business world. Bibi was used greatly by God as our Operations Director, in charge of Money, Materials and Manpower, as well as serving with me in evangelism and discipleship.

From 2013 Bibi and I have had the privilege and a responsibility to lead a team of 20 people, being the national leaders for CRU in Croatia. We are reaching out to high school and college students, business people, families, women, and we are starting the ministries to athletes, the military and we want to serve the community by helping meet needs that arise. CRU also is a part of the global church planting movement! In the 2015 refugee crisis in Croatia, we were the first to respond, partnering with Samaritan's purse. God is teaching us a lot, and has opened some unprecedented doors for us. We gain credibility by bringing in high profile people, like the US Moon astronaut, Charlie Duke and others. Today, some of our programs are sponsored by the Croatian government and the EU, which is a true miracle!

None of all these amazing miracles God did in Croatia and Bosnia through us would have been possible without you, our faithful partners. Many individuals, churches and organisations were used by God to build His Kingdom in Croatia. Thank you for your involvement, it is a true privilege to be partners in the Gospel, in this great vision of launching spiritual movements so that everyone knows someone who knows Christ. May the Lord richly bless the part you play in it all.
