Dear friend in Christ,

A glorious day is coming! It's the day when we will all stand before the throne of Jesus, praising Him, honoring Him, and glorifying Him with people from every tribe, tongue
and nation . . . people you have helped bring into the kingdom because you enabled
them to understand the Word of God contained in the film "JESUS."

It happened in a village of Cameroon. A team had been recording voice actors for two weeks--for a newly translated version of "JESUS." With voice recordings complete, the team needed to check their work. They invited friends and family of the voice actors to come over, watch, listen and give their feedback.

Because the people of the region were devoted to their religion, and it was their month of
fasting, the recording staff expected only 20 to 50 people would come to watch. You see, during their festival month, people of this religion dont eat from sunrise to sunset. As soon as the sun sets, families gather for their once-daily meal--a strong and honored tradition among the people.

What a surprise when 500 arrived, forgoing their meal, and jamming into a small room to preview "JESUS" in their mother tongue--the voices of their family and friends, on a television monitor.

No one ate as "JESUS" played. Instead, they sat, watched and listened intently until 10:00 p.m.! After the presentation, some said: "We have heard the message before, but today we have seen the man called Jesus. Is He still alive?" A worker replied: "What you have seen is real. He is alive and He is coming back."

Of the 500 who watched, 200 indicated decisions for Christ (40 percent!) . . . just from a rough, "test screening" of "JESUS" in their own mother tongue!

Here is another wonderful report: Several hundred miles to the west of Cameroon lies Nigeria, the most populous nation on the continent. One of every four Africans is Nigerian. In this nation, the battle for religious allegiance is intense and accelerating.

Nigeria is also home to 500-plus languages and dialects. So far, 52 translations of "JESUS" are complete, with 28 more languages listed for future translations, each one representing more than 100,000 speakers. Someday, when that task is complete, nearly every Nigerian will be able to understand the Word of God contained in "JESUS"--in their heart language.

A Nigerian named Aminat experienced the Word through "JESUS," heard in his primary
language. He said: "I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior this night after watching the film and hearing Jesus speak in my mother tongue. It was so real to me because I understood everything He said and what He did for me on the cross. I believe His blood cleansed all my sins completely. I saw a demonstration of the power of Jesus tonight through healing and deliverance. I am sure He has the power to take care of my heart's deepest needs. He is God to be worshipped and in His name I will serve Him."

Allow me to share another report. It is marvelous . . . written by a student who helped show
"JESUS" in Uganda, a nation of some 43 languages: "The 'JESUS' film was such a success. They were all intrigued at just the site of a cinema in their back yard. Many were amazed that they could see Jesus speaking their language. Whenever a miracle would show they would clap and rejoice. It was beautiful for me just to watch their reactions.

"At the end of the film, a few pastors spoke more about the gospel, and a call was made to all who wanted to accept Him. Although most of the people left, over 200 stayed behind and prayed for salvation. Yes 200!!! And thats not even counting the children. . . . I was hoping for 20, but God multiplied my prayers!!!

"You have no idea how powerful that moment was for me. I was holding this light bulb,
because it was very dark by the end of the movie. Everyone gathered around me and prayed in Acholi. Although I didnt understand the exact words, I could feel the Holy Spirit working. I could feel this mass of souls just being born!! Oh it was amazing!!! It was so emotional, that moment hands down is now the best moment of my life! Just seeing the power that God has to change lives when they are ready. I didnt do anything, He did all the work, and it showed."

Indeed, He does do all the work--when people are at last enabled to understand "JESUS" in their own heart language. His Word is mighty, powerful . . . transforming, through the work of the Holy Spirit.

Since 1979 more than 1,040 language versions of "JESUS" have been recorded, edited and produced. My thanks goes to hundreds of staff who have worked so faithfully over the years, and to the many giving partners like you who have given, often sacrificially, laboring together for the day when everyone can understand "JESUS."

But today I write with a heart for those who still can't understand, even those who have seen "JESUS," but not in their primary language. You see, most people grew up with one "heart language," the one they "learned at their mothers knee." While they may speak related languages, these other languages are secondary and used for trade and casual communication.

But the language they speak at home--that's the tongue they use to tell stories around the
evening fire--is the language that deeply touches their hearts. Over and over weve heard reports of people who have experienced "JESUS" in a secondary language, and then in their own tongue.

When a new translation is released and shown in their primary tongue, it's as though light shines upon them. A new clarity and understanding comes. For the first time many feel as though God is speaking directly to them! For some it is like a revelation: "He is speaking to me! He is one of us! We are valued by the Creator." What an opportunity!

Before me is a priority list of 10 languages requiring translations of "JESUS." One is an
adaptation of "JESUS," "Magdalena: Released From Shame," which interweaves newly filmed scenes depicting Jesus' interaction with women with footage from the original "JESUS" film. "Magdalena" promises to reach hundreds of thousands of not only women in Georgia, but men as well who are also deeply touched by the story.

Another is the audio/radio version of "JESUS," "The Story of Jesus" for a very restricted
country where there are approximately 1 million speakers. For the Georgian translations, a total of 4.1 million speakers could be reached, helping to change many thousands of lives for eternity. When partners are found to make these 10 translations possible, and the arduous pains-taking tasks of recording and editing are complete, an estimated 297 million more people will be able to understand the Word in their primary language.

Would you feel led to become one of those partners? From start to release, it takes about
$37,000. This amount covers expenses for planning, research, scripting, travel, recording on site and editing at the Master Studio in Orlando. That's an amount beyond most of us, but all of us can have a part, as God leads.

Accordingly, we've broken down the costs of producing one translation of "JESUS." I invite
you to see if there is a gift amount here that God would lead and enable you to send. When you fund a portion of one new translation, your gift might help translate a key scene or phrase that "JESUS" speaks, or a complete parable or miracle.

I can think of few opportunities that will leave such a lasting legacy. Even if our Lord should
tarry, the translation you help create could last for decades, reaching hundreds of thousands of people with the gospel, in their heart language. Your investment could reap a spiritual harvest for all eternity.

So please pray about this opportunity and the millions who have yet to understand.
As you do, I'd like to pass on one moving account of a woman who saw--and understood--
"JESUS." She also was from a country in Africa, a follower of a predominant religion that for
security reasons I will simply refer to as the "Lato" religion.

She said: "I came from a "Lato" background. I was born and raised "Lato." I married a "Lato" with four children, and all my relatives are [Lato]. I was touched and moved by seeing 'JESUS' shown in my village. To see Jesus speak my language was wonderful.

"My husband and father have always told me that Nabila Isa (the prophet Jesus) was not
Gods Son; that He was the second-to-the-last prophet. But, what I have heard and seen tonight has shown me He is more than a prophet. I now know who died for me; I am accepting Nabila Isa (Jesus) as Lord and Savior over my life."

As it is written, "Let thy mercies come also unto me, O LORD, even thy salvation,
according to thy word (Psalm 119:41, KJV).

May His mercies and salvation come to thousands more, according to His Word, because of you. Someday we will all enjoy that glorious day when His body--His church--will see Him. We will gather around His throne, rejoice, praise . . . and revel in His presence. What a day it will be!
