Sergey - I became a Christian in 1991 before my two year service in the army. While in the army, my faith was strengthened by the Lord and I actively witnessed to the people I served with. Even there, the Lord was preparing me for my future missionary work. He put on my heart to witness both to officers and to simple solders. There was a special place in the basement of the barracks where we gathered to prayed together.
Lena - I became a Christian in 1988, when I was 14 years old. I have attended church since I was a child. I am grateful to God that He gave me a Christian father who pointed me to the Truth. Ive been living with the Lord for 16 years, and He has faithfully provided for all of my needs during all this time. He has given me many friends, a wonderful family, and a great ministry to be involved in.
We got married in December 1995. God has blessed us with 6 children. Katia is 27 years old, Sasha is 18 (he will be starting university next year), Andrew and Kostya are 16 and Elisha is 12. Our daughter, Anastasia, went to be with Jesus when she was 3 and a half years old, in 2007. We took guardianship of two of them(Sasha and Kostya) ten years ago, and one ofthem will be starting university next year.
We joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ in 1998. Our first assignment was on a campus ministry team at Kiev Polytechnic University. Then, from 2000 - 2005 we lived in Kharkov in eastern Ukraine and I led the campus team there. Since 2005, I have served as the National Campus Team Leader again back in Kiev.
Now I am leader of Catalytic team in Ukraine, every week I build relationships with people in the team, take care of their needs in the context of war. We gather our volunteers twice ayear for encouragement and training in Evangelism and discipleship. We work in 7 different cities (Rivne, Ostrog, Lutsk, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Ternopil, Kamyanets) and we are initiating the beginning of ministry in new cities. I have responsibility about Ternopil, and have disciples in other cities.
Our mission: “We exist to help volunteers carry the Gospel of hope (fulfilling the Great Commission) inevery city of Ukraine.”
Our vision: “A multiplying community of students that shapes the worldview of future leaders in everycity of Ukraine.”
Our the LINC team - Leaders In New Cities. We realize that changing society and the future of Ukraine starts with the spiritual transformation ofUkrainian students. We reach them with the Gospel and help them grow spiritually, and they, in turn, choose to live for God, share their faith, and invest in the lives of other students. Bringing the hope of the Gospel to others. It is these spiritual leaders, those who influence others spiritually, that we want to grow in our movement. We want to seeour volunteers become leaders in the local churches, in various spheres of society, and in the country as a whole aftercompleting their training or participating in our movement and continue to spiritually influence the people where theLord God has placed them.
We are happy to serve Ukrainians and share our faith in times of trial. We greatly appreciate any help you can give us.
