Farai and Chipo Katsande have been faithfully serving the Lord in Campus crusade for Christ (CCC)/CRU since 2000. Since Farai’s appointment as CRU Global Vice President for Africa in June 2021, their work now covers 50 countries in Africa. This role involves helping national ministries set and implement strategic direction to fulfil the Great Commission in Africa. 

Previous roles in CCC: JESUS Film Coordinator, Campus Director, Operations and Finance Director, Area Finance Manager (Southern & Eastern Africa), National Director for Zimbabwe, and Area Team Leader for Southern and Eastern Africa.

Farai and Chipo have achieved several milestones on the mission field in Africa, such as:
  • 2003 – 2004: Project Jericho campaign – 2.2 million people were exposed to the gospel, over 200 000 decisions for Christ and 18 Churches planted in 18 months. 
  • 2012 – 2020: Farai and his team initiated the DEEPlife Campaign, which led to the planting of more than 36,000 churches in Africa, and the birth of DEEPlife TV (gospel outreach TV) which covers the whole Africa. 
  • 2018: NEXTGEN Leadership development initiative to raise Mission leaders in Africa. 
  • 2020: Led the HOPE2020 initiative, a digital campaign that saw 179 million people exposed to the gospel across 
Africa, with over 4.2 million decisions for Christ.Africa has many challenges hindering the spread of the gospel, such as poverty, the spread of other religions, etc. These require URGENT response. We therefore trust God for you to join our partnership team to rescue Africa from the pangs of sin.
