Dear Friend of Jesus Film Project,

Please know that God is using you...your faithful intercession and gifts! I and all the staff of Jesus Film Project are very grateful. I have a story that will surely move your heart, how God is at work, through you!

This came directly from a key ministry director in the Middle East who trains and encourages "JESUS" teams in this troubled part of the world. With enthusiasm he told the story of Omar, a man from an Arab Gulf country.

Omar’s life was empty and full of troubles. He was weary and without hope. Omar shared his depressed state with a friend, who advised, “It’s time for you to go on the holy pilgrimage.”

Omar listened...for nothing else was working. Seeking hope and peace, he went, joining the multitudes of white-robed pilgrims to the famed city. He carried out all the required rituals at the various holy sites, including “Stoning the Devil.” But when it was over, he told his fellow pilgrims, “They told me I would find solutions and hope here. I haven’t. I’m still weary, worse than before and don’t know what to do.”

Discouraged, Omar went to the bus station to return home. The station was normally jammed with people. But not this time. There was only one bus left, and it was empty. It was a strange situation, but wanting to get going, he boarded anyway. The driver spoke to Omar: “We don’t have any passengers yet, but I can see you have a problem. There’s a store over there. See that large rock? Just go sit on that rock and talk to Isa [their name for Jesus].”

“But why?” Omar asked the driver, who was insistent: “Try it. Go there. Talk to Isa. You’ve tried everything else.” Omar complied.

He walked over and sat on the rock. The moment he said “Isa,” his body began to shake. Omar felt something powerful filling his heart and body. “I spent two hours there without being conscious of the passing of time.” Finally, when Omar regained his bearings, he went back to the bus, but now it was gone. So he took a taxi to his next stop.

When at last he returned home, Omar began seeking out any Christian he could find. He had to understand what had happened to him. He found a man, a “Christian” in name only. He told Omar, “I can’t help you, but someone gave me a DVD, a film called ‘Isa.’ Come to my house for dinner and we will watch together.”

Omar sat down and began to watch. The DVD came to the scene where John is baptizing in the Jordan River. Then he saw the face of the actor who portrayed Jesus. He couldn’t believe it. Omar began shouting: “Wow, that’s the driver! That’s the driver in the bus! He’s the One who told me to talk to Isa!”

He watched the entire DVD and heard the gospel presented faithfully and simply, including the words of Jesus, the very Word of God. Now he understood what had happened to him—his encounter with the bus driver. He had met Isa! Omar gave control of his life over to Jesus. A strong Christian in a nearby nation is now discipling Omar.

“...to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ!” (Romans 16:27)*

Then there is this man, whom I will call Husan. He was living in a Central Asian country. Husan was not only devout in the same religion as Omar, but was considered a “staunch follower.” So much so, that he was an evangelist, feeling obligated to persuade as many people as possible to follow the same path.

Husan remembered what happened: “One day I was talking to a man about my religion. He listened to me very patiently. When I finished he told me that he was a Christian. I was shocked. How could he be a Christian and from my nation. I didn’t hide my anger. Yet, he didn’t respond in anger, but the opposite, peacefully telling me about Jesus with a smile.”

That Christian apparently knew the power of the film "JESUS" to win men’s hearts. He invited Husan to his house to watch the DVD. He did. What he saw and heard was so contrary to all he believed––what he had been taught all his life. It was difficult for Husan to process. Several days later he visited another man, a friend. It turns out that he too had been given a DVD of "JESUS"! Once again, Omar watched, hearing the Word of God, feeling the moving of the Holy Spirit...assuring him that “this is Truth.”

“That day I repented of my sin and invited Jesus into my life.” Husan’s life began a wonderful transformation. He obtained a DVD of "JESUS" and took it home to his wife and children. His kids prayed to receive Christ (but his wife still needs some time).

Husan: “I used to tell people about my religion. Now, I tell them about Jesus. Our God is amazing. I like to tell people about His love.”

And one more report! There is a discipleship/training center in a difficult nation. A man named Saman came through the doors, approaching a worker, and asked for a DVD of "JESUS." This doesn’t happen often as the training center is in a difficult area. Understandably, staff feared he might have been sent by the authorities. So, testing him, they declined Saman’s request. But he did not give up and repeatedly came, asking for his own copy of "JESUS."

Staff members recalled:  They reported that Saman prayed the prayer of salvation at the end of "JESUS" and was made new in Christ. “We finally saw that he was sincere and gave him the DVD. He watched 'JESUS' and told us, ‘I want to have Jesus in my life.’” Now Saman works at the training center! He helps give DVDs to others and disciples new believers in their faith!

“I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.”
(1 Corinthians 1:4)

These are but a few of the many inspiring reports we regularly receive from around the world. It’s one of our greatest joys to learn how God works through "JESUS" and then to pass these reports on to you—the result of your partnership. Thank you for all you have done and will do!

Would you feel led to again help hundreds more experience the power of the gospel and His Word through DVDs of "JESUS"? Your partnership in sending DVDs is very much needed. That’s because as I write, we have learned of a timely, wonderful opportunity.

This November, Franklin Graham and Samaritan’s Purse will be conducting a historic, evangelistic festival in Myanmar (formerly Burma). Samaritan’s Purse wishes to partner with Jesus Film Project, and you, to win as many as possible to Christ. They are asking if the ministry can come alongside and supply 20,000 DVDs, especially for all the follow-up work they anticipate.

Because Myanmar is 80 percent Buddhist, it’s culturally very difficult for the people to process and understand the gospel. It takes time. These 20,000 DVDs will enable people to see and hear the gospel repeatedly at home. Samaritan’s Purse plans to give out the DVDs in the days before, during and after the festival.

As those 20,000 DVDs go into homes throughout this nation, as people insert the DVDs into their players, whole families will be enabled to watch and hear the Word of God in their mother tongue again and again. Thousands will be hearing the gospel for the first time and could come to Christ. Would you feel led to help?

Your gift of $108 will supply 24 DVDs for Myanmar and other nations. Worldwide, staff, partners, churches, and evangelists are requesting more than one million DVDs. Many friends of "JESUS" are needed to send a gift of $280 for 62 DVDs. You might feel led to send $560 for 124 DVDs. Or, perhaps you would want to provide a DVD duplicator set for $950.

There is also great need for micro SD cards. While DVDs are a powerful tool, in some places, the danger is too great for a worker to be found with multiple DVDs of "JESUS." Instead, a worker can transport scores, even hundreds of micro SD cards at a time, carried in a pocket or small pouch.

These memory cards are secure and can be used anywhere, both in rural and urban areas. Further, the micro SD cards contain the entire "JESUS" film and/or other Jesus Film® media in a number of languages, up to 10. They can be placed into various digital playback devices like video tablets, smartphones and even old flip phones.

We have growing requests for tens of thousands of micro SD cards, pre-loaded with "JESUS." As you feel led, you can send 12 micro SD cards fully loaded with these materials, for a gift of $240. You can also send a micro SD card, high-speed duplicator for a gift of $3,810. Workers increasingly are asking for these duplicators, enabling them to produce thousands in a matter of weeks, in-country. 

Another opportunity to consider is equipping workers with video tablets (similar to an iPad®). These too are pre-loaded with "JESUS" and other Jesus Film media. You could equip five evangelists/church planters with video tablets for a gift of $1,425 to be used again and again.

Also, please pray about sponsoring live streaming of "JESUS" and other evangelistic/follow–up films, so people can watch over the Internet or on their small digital devices. Live streaming is quite effective for extremely closed nations where spiritual hunger is great. Your gift of $650 will help stream the gospel to 1,250 people.
