Cru at Cal State East Bay has a rich heritage of campus ministry dating back to the 1970's (the school was formerly named 'Cal State Hayward'). It is perhaps one of the most ethnically diverse and economically challenged student populations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Students usually commute from great distances to attend classes and work part and full-time jobs to make ends meet. The ministry is 100% student-led and advised by Cru staff and CSUEB faculty members.
