Dima and Alla Netrebenko

#2837570

We have been serving on staff with Cru in Ukraine for 15  years as part of the student evangelism and discipleship ministry.

Dima: Why did I  join staff?  I was born in the family of unbelievers and heard the word “God” for the first time only after my younger brother was diagnosed with cancer. My parents turned to doctors, healers, churches, etc. for help and, as a result, my mom and I came to Christ.❤️
I wanted to serve God right away and started leading Sunday school meetings for children at our small village church. They were attended mostly by kids from dysfunctional and heavily drinking families who no one really cared about.

One boy, Alex, liked to sit in my lap during these meetings. He grew up without a father and his mom often told him and her other kids to not come home without food. One late fall evening she did not let Alex in because he returned empty handed, and he froze to death. His mom told me, “You took care of him, so you must bury him!” 😡My heart was broken as God showed me what blood-curdling things people were capable of. I realized that our country and people were degrading and that only He could change them. This is why I came on staff and have been serving with Cru for the last 13 years. ☝️

God blessed me with a wonderful  wife  Alla💑. Together  we have been a part of the campus teams in Kyiv and Lviv, and now the team we serve on has a big dream of helping launch student-led spiritual movements in 38 cities across Ukraine. There are big universities but no staff teams in these cities. Now we have 21 citys. We have 2 wonderful boys Elijah & Michael 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦  who remind us that we all are children of God.

Join us in this wonderful ministry!😀
