Jose (“Jota”) and Walewska ("Wale") became followers of Jesus through Cru’s campus ministry in Mérida, Venezuela. As college students, they began sharing their faith, leading Bible studies, and responding to God’s call to serve Him wherever He would lead. They married in 2010 and are now joyful parents to their daughter, Luciana, expecting a new member in their family for 2026. They joined Cru staff in 2009 and 2010, served in Colombia in Campus Ministry and FamilyLife, and now continue their mission from Orlando, Florida.Today, they serve the Great Commission through two complementary roles that work together as one unified mission:

Jota is helping Missionaries Stay on Mission. He serves with Cru’s Learning Management Solutions Team, accelerating global missions through digital training.Through Gnowbe, one of Cru’s mobile-learning platform, missionaries worldwide receive practical training anytime, anywhere, equipping them to stay focused on reaching people with the gospel.When missionaries stay equipped, they stay on mission.

Wale is helping Women Hear God’s Word. She serves with her.BIBLE, leading the production of the first-ever Spanish NIV audio Bible narrated entirely by women.Her passion is helping Hispanic women: mothers, grandmothers, daughters, and young professionals, hear Scripture in a voice that feels warm, familiar, and compassionate.This new resource, her.BIBLE Español, helps women connect with Scripture in the way they can receive it best: through audio.When women hear God clearly, they grow—and they help others grow too.
