Twenty-three years ago, CCC launched its ministry in Mongolia through "The JESUS Film". Today, most middle-aged persons in the capital city, Ulaanbaatar, has seen “The JESUS Film” and heard about Christ. Though highly effective in the past, the full-length JESUS Film is no longer effective in presenting the Gospel to non-Christians in this setting. For young and old alike, only one out of twenty people are willing to sit down and watch the entire movie. That's why we are using new tools such as short films and photos that illustrate God's love for people.
For example, the JesusFilmMedia app is a great tool that contains many different short films in different languages, including Mongolian. These are highly effective for meeting up with individuals and introducing the Gospel to them, and they often lead to further conversations about Christ. We have also developed a website, www.tailal.mn, in Mongolian as a resource for Christians and non-Christians to help them understand about God and life. This has been especially helpful to Christians who live far from the capital and have little opportunity for fellowship with other believers. These are just two examples of tools we have developed. There is opportunity for so much more.
Mongolians today are very interested in many forms of media. I believe that God will use media and the internet to help bring new life in Christ and change to our nation. MCCC has a unique opportunity to help lead and resource the body of Christ in Mongolia in the use of media for the Lord’s purposes.
