Fran and I didnt become Christians until we were 37. We worshipped at Bishop Hannington Church in Sussex, England from 1990 and in 1995 were challenged at the annual church weekend away to pray about full time Christian work. Seven months later we were accepted to work with Agape UK. In April 1997, after raising our support, we left the beautiful county of Sussex and moved to Birmingham in the Midlands.
For the past 6 years Martin and I were leading the Operations Team which supports the 100+ Agape UK staff in the areas of Conferences, Computers, Cash, and Communications. Together with the HR team the team is the vital Mission Control to ensure the ministry can achieve its goal of helping fulfil the Great Commission to, "go and make disciples" (Matt 28v18-21).
We are now preparing to move to Italy to work with Agape in Florence. We have been praying about working in Italy for many years. Our vision is to help mobilise young Italian Christians with a heart for mission to their own country.
As well as being the home of fashion and style, Italy is often perceived as a Christian country. The reality is different: only 2% of Italians go to church more than a couple of times a year. 20% are atheists and there is a thriving interest in the New Age movement and the occult.

Unlike Agape UK the Italian ministry doesnt have all the resources and staff it needs. Having us on the team will provide extra capacity and we can now see how God has used the last five years leading the Operations Team to prepare and equip us for this time.
Our God is such an awesome God. He is so faithful, the rock on which we stand and the one who is never too busy to hear our voices and answer our prayers.
We have a fantastic team of people behind us who pray for us, encourage us, send us emails, cards (and occasional chocolate), phone us and pay our wages. It is hard to put into words how much this involvement in our lives means to us.
