Freshman are stepping onto university campuses around the country for the first time today. They've come to learn, to prepare for careers and to meet the people who will be their friends for years to come.

FSKs are such a vital part of Campus Crusade for Christ's ministry on American university campuses that they're used to launch new ministries.

New students are intrigued by the message of the Gospel and invited to a Crusade meeting by a fellow student. Here's how FSKs helped launch a ministry at Texas A&M University in Galveston, Texas.

Staff members Eric and Kristy came to Texas A&M, their Alma mater, to lead a Campus Crusade student movement on campus. The first meeting of their first year, they gathered in a tiny room with fewer than 10 people.

But they wanted to reach more students with Jesus.

So they passed out Freshman Survival Kits to new students, inviting them to participate in their weekly meetings.

By the end of the first semester, they had grown to more than 35 students! And this past school year, their second on campus, they started with more than 140 students, many of them coming as a result of an FSK.

Says Eric: "We feel like God is moving like crazy here!"
