Benson and Josephine are resident faculty members at East Asia School of Theology (EAST) in Singapore. Benson is foremost a teacher of Biblical Studies, New Testament, and Biblical Greek courses. He also serves in the school's academic office and leadership teams as an associate dean of academics. Jo serves as the Mentoring Group director and leads the Office of Mentoring. She teaches spiritual formation and theology courses for both the program students and their wives who are in the Partners in Ministry program.
Benson and Jo completed their studies at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky in 2017. Benson graduated with a PhD in Biblical Studies (New Testament), while Jo graduated with two Master of Arts degrees, one in Spiritual Formation and one in Theological Studies. Jo is now working on her Doctor of Education in Spiritual Formation and Discipleship with Asia-Graduate School of Theology Alliance.
They have been on staff with Cru Singapore (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ) for over 25 years. They had served in various leadership, coaching, and mentoring roles within the Cru university campus ministry and staff training programs. They are members of Covenant Evangelical Free Church (Singapore). They lead a covenant group of the church and are also part of the leadership teams for the church's parenting and marriage ministries.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, they have led and conducted video-conferencing talks and seminars on building healthy Christian marriages, discipling young people, and cultivating prayer life for Christians and congregations from China and Singapore.
They have three children: Samuel Yi En (7–11 Aug 2002); Joylynn Xin En (age 20); and Benedict Yong En (age 17).
