Important Update: A New, More Secure Sign-In Experience Is Coming June 23, 2025
Starting June 23, 2025, we’re updating the way ministry partners log in and register on give.cru.org. While you’ll still be able to access your account and give just like before, we’re moving to a new system behind the scenes that makes your information more secure.
There’s nothing you need to do ahead of time. We’re taking care of this update for you, and your existing account information will be migrated automatically. You may notice a new sign-in page beginning June 23.
Below are answers to common questions to help you with the new experience.
What is Okta?
Okta is a secure sign-in platform that protects your personal information and account access. Many organizations, schools, and businesses utilize Okta to enable users to sign in securely and easily.
Why are we working with Okta?
We want to make sure your information is protected with the most up-to-date security practices. By working with Okta, we are:
Strengthening the protection of your personal and financial information
Making it easier to sign in and recover your account if you forget your password
Preparing for future improvements in how we serve you online
Will I need to do anything different to sign in?
On or after June 23, 2025, when you go to sign in at give.cru.org, you’ll be taken to a new login screen powered by Okta.
You’ll use your email address and password like before.
If we already have your information, your account will be available immediately.
You may be asked to verify your email address the first time.
Do I need to have an account to check out and give a donation?
No, you can still give as a guest without signing in or creating an account.
However, creating an account gives you access to:
Access and view your giving history
Save payment methods such as Bank Account or Credit/Debit Cards
Set up or manage recurring gifts to missionaries, ministries, or special projects
What if I already have an account but can’t remember my email or password?
No worries! On the new login page:
Click the “Need help?” dropdown, and then click “Forgot your password?”.
You can reset your password by entering your email address, then navigating to your email inbox to retrieve a verification code to confirm that it is you attempting to access the account.
Then follow the prompts to reset your password for your next visit.
If you’re unsure which email is tied to your account, our team is happy to help. Contact us at 888-278-7233 (option 1, then 1) or egift@cru.org.
How do I register after giving a gift as a guest?
If you gave a gift without signing in, you can still create an account after you complete the giving process as a guest:
If you’re still on the “Thank you” page, which displays once the gift is completed, you will see an option to “Register Your Account”.
Click this option and follow the prompts, which will use the information you’ve provided during the checkout process.
–– or ––
If you’ve given a gift as a guest and registered for an account in your next website visit, you can register by visiting give.cru.org and then clicking “Sign In”.
Select “Sign Up with Okta”.
Follow the 3 steps of providing your information:
Contact information: First and last name, email address, and account type (individual or company).
Address: Billing Address used for mailing receipts.
Security: Set up your account password and verify your email address.
Check your email inbox, including spam or junk folders, for a message from “Okta” with the subject line, “Welcome to Cru Online Giving”.
Copy the verification code, which is a 6-digit number that expires after a few minutes.
Paste the copied 6-digit verification code into the screen for Step 3: Security and click “Verify”.
Continue to Okta to sign in by using the same email address and password you used to register moments before to connect it to your new account.
When logged in, you will be able to see all of your giving history, even the gifts made through guest checkout that match your account information.
I’m trying to register, but can’t find the code to verify my email address. What should I do?
If you’re being asked to enter a verification code:
Check your email inbox, including spam or junk folders, for a message from “Okta”.
The code is usually a 6-digit number that expires after a few minutes.
Didn’t receive it? Try clicking “Resend Code” or check that your email address was entered correctly.
How do I reset my password?
On the login screen:
Click “Need help?”
Select “Forgot Password?”
Enter your email address, and you’ll receive instructions to reset your password.
If you don’t receive the email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folders, or try resending.
What does “Unlock Account” mean?
If you’ve entered the wrong password too many times, your account may be temporarily locked to protect your information.
Click “Unlock Account” and follow the prompts to verify your identity.
You’ll receive an email with steps to unlock it and sign back in.
If you’re needing assistance, please reach out to our team at 888-278-7233 (option 1, then 1) or egift@cru.org, and we can manage this unlock process for you.
