Summer can be fun! But, sadly, in Chicago, summer can also be dangerous. We carry the memories of far too many young lives tragically lost to violence.

Bryan first got involved with Cru’s Agape Center at summer day camp, where 1st-8th graders experience a safe, stimulating environment for four weeks.

Children exert tons of energy playing gym games, flex their creative muscles making arts and crafts, grow their reading and math foundations, and enjoy fun-filled field trips. Children soak up the Good News through Bible lessons, songs, and memory verses.

Last year Bryan participated in Cru's teen summer jobs program. It provides teens a safe, supportive community where they gain work experience, plus job and life skills training. The program pushed Bryan to grow and make an impact.

Job sites give youth opportunities to serve in their own neighborhood, preparing them to be future leaders. Teens hear the Good News from caring staff and volunteers at a weekly Bible study, and during 1-on-1 mentor meetings.

Bryan’s life was changed forever during a week at Kids Across America - a Christian sports camp specifically geared to share the Good News with youth from an urban context. Last summer, 11 of our teens responded “YES” to the gospel, including Bryan!

That means $200 will double into $400, providing two weeks of camp. $400 will transform into $800, which will totally sponsor one youth for four weeks of safe, summer programming. And a gift of $800 will turn into $1,600 impacting TWO youth this summer!
