We have both been on Cru staff for 30+ years and have served in the campus ministry in several capacities. Buz was a campus director for 10 years and a regional coordinator for new student ministries for 9 years. CJ served as an associate campus director for 5 years (including several while a new mom) and held a couple of different regional positions giving leadership to moms and new staff members. In Jan. 2006, we transitioned to Faculty Commons, which is the Cru ministry focused on reaching and building into the lives of university faculty members and graduate students. Buz works primarily at the University of Georgia, as well as seeking to help start ministries on other campuses in the southeast. CJ transitioned to spousal affiliate status in 2015, which means she is officially not on staff with Cru but still actively involved in the mission. For several years, she was the executive director of the Foundation for Excellence in Public Education in Clarke County, which meant she devoted her time to her passion of helping to promote, encourage, and recognize strong leadership among teachers and administrators in the local public school system. Although she has recently passed along this role to someone else, we continue to believe that the educational system is a great place to trust God to change the next generation and to influence our society and world as a whole. Through her school involvement she actively supported and assisted with the local JROTC programs and through that made contact with a new computer software company that was helping transition JROTC programs into the digital world. She is now the director of outreach and customer service of this young company. We thank God for the privilege of being used by Him to be a part of what He is doing in centers of learning.
