We believe the most strategic place in the world for missions is on the college campus. Students come from all over the world to learn and form who they will be for the rest of their lives, and then they are sent out in their different professions to shape their communities, countries, and ultimately the world. 

Our role as missionaries to the college campus is to come alongside what God is doing to turn lost students into Christ-centered lifelong laborers. 

After serving at the University of Oklahoma for 4 years to see students won to Christ, built up in their faith, and sent out as missionaries to bring the gospel to the broken world, we were burdened by the need for missionaries on college campuses overseas. It caused us to remember our intern years in Bologna, Italy at the oldest university in the western world (founded in 1088). There are over 80,000 college students at the University of Bologna and in a survey, we found that only 1% would say that they know someone who truly follows Jesus. It breaks our hearts as students tell us they do not know where they would go with questions about spiritual things. Many of them have pieced together spiritual beliefs from conversations with friends and from the internet. As a result, many of them are agnostic with leanings closer to Buddhism than to Christianity.

This is a vital time in Italian history. With the last Catholic generation starting to pass away, the younger Italians are facing a struggling economy, a lack of job opportunities, and nowhere to place their hope - especially in light of the pandemic. Our plan is to spend at least 3-5 years in Bologna to introduce these students to the life-changing hope that we have through a relationship with Jesus.
