Gracie Huebner

Hello! My name is Gracie, and I am just finishing up my first year internship with Cru in Central Ohio - and what a great year it was! I graduated from Wright State University in spring 2023, and throughout my time at WSU, I became very involved with Cru. I started going to Cru because I graduated out of all my high school groups and wanted to find a Christian community in college. I began showing up to Bible studies, retreats, and weekly meetings, and at Winter Conference over Christmas break, I rededicated my life to Christ. I started to understand what a life transformed by the gospel was and because of that, began responding by saying "YES" to the Lord. I realized that I knew a lot ABOUT God, but I didn't truly KNOW God. As I began reading the Bible for myself, learning how to have gospel conversations, taking steps of faith to go on summer missions, and engaging in one-on-one discipleship, I started feeling the freedom and contentment that only a relationship with Christ can give. I understand that I am a broken person, deeply in need of a savior, and while there are many beautiful things on this earth, only one can fill the deep longings of my heart - the one who created it.

I believe that like my freshman self, college students are on the search for purpose, life, and fulfillment. Whether that's in academics, relationships, friendships, athletics, or just fitting in, people desire to feel secure, loved, and free. However, this security, love, and freedom is not found in good grades, significant others, or a group of friends, which leaves people feeling anxious, hopeless, lonely, and lost. Even people who grew up in Christian homes may not know how to actually walk well with Jesus on a daily basis, which is something I experienced in my own life before college.

Because of the deep need I see for Jesus on college campuses, I have spent the last year walking alongside college students, introducing them to the Lord, and helping them walk well with him. I'm excited to continue working with the Central Ohio Cru team to reach the students in our area next year as a second year intern! My fiancé, Andrew, is also going to intern for a second year, and we're looking forward to doing that together after our wedding in July 2024! Our desire is for every student to have the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel, and we are excited to continue being a part of that mission.

We would LOVE for you to be on our team as we continue pursuing the Lord's calling this coming year. We believe that we all have a part in sharing the gospel, and it would be our greatest joy for you to join us in this mission. Whether you give financially, pray consistently, or share this with others who would be encouraged by what the Lord is doing on college campuses, we are so grateful. Please reach out if there are questions you have that we could talk through or ways you'd like to connect - my door is open :)

blessings,

Gracie <3
